Writing is my passion, and sharing my stories with children is the reward.

Ginger Park is an award-winning author of many books for children that reflect her Korean heritage. Awards include the International Reading Association’s Children’s Book Award, Paterson Prize for Books for Young People, Bank Street College Award, and a Junior Library Guild Selection, among others.

Ginger’s middle grade novel THE HUNDRED CHOICES DEPARTMENT STORE (Fitzroy Books, 2022) was honored with the 2024 AANHPI Heritage Month “Book Choice” by the Administrative Offices of the U.S. Courts & federal judiciary.

Soon-to-be-published: SUKA’S FARM (Albert Whitman and Company, April 2025) co-authored with Frances Park. Inspired by the authors’ father, a hungry Korean boy growing up in 1941 Japanese-occupied Korea finds work on a Japanese farm herding goats. Here, an unlikely friendship blooms between Japanese farmer & Korean boy.

Forthcoming: MY SISTER’S DOLJABI (Albert Whitman and Company, fall 2025) co-authored with Frances Park. This heartwarming story stars Hoon, a young Korean boy, who helps plan his baby sister’s first birthday ceremony.

When Ginger, an empty nester, isn’t writing, she’s usually hanging out with her hubby, Skip, and their three doodles.
